Looking at the Dungeon Journal, the Amber Monstrosity looks a lot like the Yellow Devil from the MegaMan series.

Having a lot of trouble with the vehicle bar and various addons :(

Apparently addons that normally work with other Pandaria vehicles don't always work in some configurations with the vehicle in this fight.

A short guide for this boss (normal 10 man):

The major mechanic in this fight is Reshape Life. It turns a raid member into a Mutated Construct with four abilities. The construct will slowly lose willpower, and should it reach zero, the player will die and the construct will start attacking the raid.
1. Amber Strike: does considerable damage to the target and increases its damage taken by 10% for 15 seconds, stacks. Also, interrupts your current target.
2. Struggle for Control: mini-stuns yourself to prevent Amber Explosion from being cast. Costs willpower.
3. Consume Amber: heals yourself for 2 million (and increases your max HP), and restores 2 willpower.
4. Break Free: frees you from the construct, can only be used when under 20% hp.
The mutated player should use ability (1) on the boss (or Amber Monstrosity) as often as possible, while interrupting your own Amber Explosion casts and breaking free when low on willpower (or as soon as possible for healers).

There are three phases to it. First, you will fight the boss alone. There are three abilities in this phase:
Amber Scalpel: targets a random player, and follows them with a beam that deals a lot of damage and leaves a trace of amber, that turns into Living Amber globules. These globules fixate on a random player until killed, and killing them deals a small amount of damage to nearby players and heals nearby globules.
Parasitic Growth: a small dot that grows stronger when the target is healed.
Reshape Life: turns the target into a Mutated Construct. In phase one, this is only used on tanks.
The strategy is to simply DPS the boss to 70%; when a tank is mutated, bring him to 20% and resume damage on the boss. The small slimes should be single targeted by ranged players, they don't present a difficulty other than being annoying.

Phase two starts when the boss reaches 70%. On phase two, an Amber Monstrosity spawns, that uses Amber Explosion, Massive Stomp and . The boss continues to use the abilities from phase one, this time only mutating non-tanks (can target healers as well).
All players should focus on the Monstrosity, as the boss doesn't take any damage on this phase. Of course, still bring mutated players to 20% asap.
The Monstrosity's Amber Explosion can and should be interrupted by mutated players using Amber Strike. Usually, the explosion is cast shortly after Reshape Life, so the newly mutated player should get to the Monstrosity asap and wait until the Explosion is cast to interrupt it.

Phase three starts when Amber Monstrosity dies. The boss stops using Scalpel, but gains increased damage and attack speed, and starts casting Reshape Life more often (on non-tanks, unless no other targets are present). The remaining pools from globules will damage random players and heal the constructs, so freeing mutated players is not an option - essentially this is a burn phase, until your healers are mutated and the tanks die (or are mutated as well). Mutated players should replenish their willpower using Consume Amber, this also reduces the amount of damage taken by the raid. Other than that, everybody should focus on DPSing the boss, as the Amber Strikes stack, it will start taking immense damage and should die quickly (the constructs themselves do massive damage with auto-attacks and Strikes).

This is the NPC ID for the version of Amber-Shaper Un'sok which appears in the Dread Wastes outside of the raid while players are on The Klaxxi daily quest Dark Skies. Bombing this NPC is an objective of Over Their Heads.

Amber-Shaper Un'sok (62511) is the correct ID for the raid boss which appears inside appears inside the Heart of Fear raid and drops loot.

I wish this guy dropped an item (possibly a trinket) that would turn the player into a Mutated Construct when it procced.

It is just way too much fun running around as those things.

Garalon has been unseated, all hail Amber-Shaper Un'Sok, the LFR Destroyer!

If you use addons that mess with vehicle buttons, turn them off for this fight. Anyone and everyone can be turned into a vehicle.

LFR Strategy:
Phase 1:
Tanks: You will be transformed. Don't consume pools, as they heal your vehicle, instead let the DPS break you out of the form. Use your melee attack and your number 1 ability on cooldown. If you have your act together, try to break out of your form (either by using your number 4 ability below 20% or having the raid take you below 10%) shortly before the second tank gets transformed so that the boss's debuff continues to stack up. Use your number 2 ability to interrupt your own Amber Explosion casts.

DPS: Damage tanks to 20% or less, attack the boss. Avoid standing in lasers or pools. Kill slimes.

Healers: Try not to heal people with Parasitic Growth, as it causes them to take additional damage from the debuff. You can heal them if they're going to die though.

Phase 2:
Everyone switches to the Amber Monstrosity, since the boss can't really be hurt anymore. A bunch of people will be transformed.

Transformed Players: Use your 1 ability on the Monstrosity, particularly to interrupt its Amber Explosion, use 2 to interrupt your own Amber Explosion. Be sure you are doing melee damage in addition to your button abilities.

Tanks: The Monstrosity needs to be tanked, as does the boss. There is a tank swap when he uses Fling.

DPS: Continue killing oozes. Keep breaking people out of the form. Don't stand in anything. DPS the Monstrosity when you can. (Multi-DoT ftw.)

Healers: Parasitic Growth is still happening, be sure to shout if you get transformed so that people know to break you out. Don't eat pools.

Phase 3:
Switch back to the boss for the finish.

Transformed Players: Use 1 on cooldown on the boss. Eat pools to keep from running out of power. Keep using 2 to interrupt your own Amber Explosions. Be sure you are doing melee damage in addition to your button abilities.

DPS: Don't stand in anything, enjoy the big numbers. Focus down the boss.

Healers: Best of luck.

tl;dr version:
Phase 1 and 2: DPS down Constructs > Oozes > Boss Don't eat pools. Don't stand in anything. Switch to Monstrosity in Phase 2. Tank both bosses in Phase 2.

Phase 3: DPS on boss only. Eat pools. Don't stand in anything.

Vehicle controls throughout:
Use 1 on cooldown to damage/debuff the target, also interrupts Amber Monstrosity.
Use 2 to interrupt your own Amber Explosion and debuff yourself (especially useful in P1 and P2.)
Use 3 to eat pools, only in P3 and only to keep from hitting 0 power.
Use 4 in P1 and P2 to exit the vehicle and save the raid 1.5M or so damage done.
Melee the target when possible.

Macroable, in 2 parts:
/raid P1 and P2: DPS Players > Ooze > Boss Don't eat pools or stand in anything. Lasers hurt. Switch to Orange Giant in P2. P3: DPS Boss, eat pools for power.
/raid Tank both bosses in P2.

/raid Vehicle Controls - When you are transformed
/raid Use 1 on cooldown & to interrupt Monstrosity.
/raid Use 2 to interrupt your own Amber Explosion.
/raid Use 3 to eat pools/gain power (not in P1 or P2.)
/raid Use 4 to break out (below 20%.)

(I would post the Vehicle Controls at the beginning of the fight as well as at the beginning of P3. Lots of people will get transformed in P3.)

There is a bug when mage uses combustion at the end of boss phase 1, the damage can jump to almost half million dps.

I've been doing this quest, "Dark Skies," for six years now and have NEVER seen this dork. I have even let what's his name fly me back and forth for an hour looking, just in case he showed up somewhere else. Amber-Shaper Un'sok is the only one I need for the Achievement. I wonder if I will EVER get it.
