I killed the packmother which was supposed to spawn this rare however i died to the last add that the packmother called and when i returned the packfather was nowhere to be found, i am not sure if dying stopped the spawn or if he has a very fast despawn timer I also kited her a few feet away from where she sleeps so perhaps it is a proximity issue or simply a bug whatever the case i was very disappointed as i wanted to tame him.

After killing Siltstalker the Packmother around twenty times to get Banescale for myself (and then redoing to help friends), it seemed that Banescale spawns around ~10% of the time when you kill Siltstalker. He IMMEDIATELY will spawn in the pavilion about 100 yards to the east of where she spawns. There is no "trick" or anything to get him to spawn. Each time he spawned for us, we did nothing special during the kill.

Ok I killed him today.
You guys just have to kill Siltstalker the Packmother (for me maybe 50 times) and he will spawn immediately after the kill in the pavilion at 74/54

Spawned for me after about ~12 kills of Siltstalker the Packmother. The only way you know he spawned is either check your Minimap for a Star (which indicates an unkilled Rar for that Day) or watch the little ruin/a round building next to her Spawnpoint (roughly /way 73.0, 53.4)
Banescale the Packfather can spawn in said Building after you killed the Packmother and patrols his way down to the initial spawnpoint of the Packmother, but IF he spawns, there wont be any "Yell" or immediate aggroing, so keep your Eyes open.

i just finally managed to kill the packfather, what i did was bringing the packmother and kill her near his spawn location, after that he spawned, Im not sure if this is just RNG or not

Even after a week of farming, even if 30 people are attacking him and even if he's at 10% a random hunter can swoop in and tame him taking the kill from everyone. This is part of the meta achievement. Have fun.

Just like the other posts have said, he spawns on the pavilion down the path to the west where the pack mother spawns (If you're facing her) My advice would be to leave a character right before her or on the coral nearby like I did and sign in every hour after you killed her the first time. Eventually he did spawn for an alliance pally and myself which was nice since I understood that she needed him (and he was my last rare for the achievement). Being a hunter I also wanted to tame so after our kill, I signed in the next morning early (like around 5) and she was up so killed her and he spawned so it is a chance. Just keep at it hunters/needing him for the meta achievement. He IS out there.

Edit: It did take me about three days of camping just to get him to spawn the first time to let you know the span of time but only during day hours, not night.

It spawns on the first kill after a server restart. At least i found the dead body after the server restart.

I killed the Packmother 5 times today alone (about a dozen times total since the launch of 8.2) and the Packfather didn’t spawn.

It wasn’t until the Packmother was pulled towards the gazebo that the Packfather spawns and killed off her spawn platform that the Packfather finally spawned. Hope this helps.

So I've been trying for a month now to get this guy. Dragging Packmother to the pavillion doesn't work but... someone mentioned to me that he seemed to spawn after 5 calls to the pack. I haven't been able to test this yet but if anyone is able to, I'd be curious as to the result. I've noticed in this Expansion that almost all the rarer NPCs have some puzzle to get them to appear (e.g., get a muck slug, etc.) and I wouldn't be surprised if Packfather appears because she is calling so many of the "kids".

Thoughts?

After about 5 kills of Siltstalker the Packmother he spawned just as she died, spawned close enough to see his star on the minimap and he patted over to where her spawn point is :) Hope this helps!

Any new thoughts on this? I'm pushing 60 kills on this stupid thing and nothing.

This RNG.... it burrrrnnnnsssssssss us, my precious.

8/25, 5 7 more kills and nothing. Tried everything - dragging to pavilion, clearing all snappys around the spawn,, killing the pavilion crabs, hell I even used the god damn scent gland. None of it works.

8/26, 4 more kills. Even tried the fin from Toxicgore for lols. No spawn, no lols.

To answer Zyrinx (and others having issues): It took me until 2 weeks ago to get him and that was killing her pretty much every single day in hopes he would show. I actually just killed her again this morning (3am) for the first time since then and he spawned again. This time I tamed him for posterity and I know it's gonna make a few people upset. That's their issue since I did it when nobody else needed him, so as to not hurt anyone.
Anyways I have to also say that silverdragon did not go off when he spawnd though, I had to go to where he spawns to find him. So if anyone is killing her and then leaving if they don't hear anything from their rare scanner, don't. Go over to the broken (veranda?) behind her and check yourself. Otherwise good luck, it's simply RNG and god knows RNG hates me this patch, this is about the only thing I have gotten and like I said, it took forever.

This Rare's spawn rate is abysmal! i've killed Packmother 64 times now and i still havent gotten him to spawn. Havent even seen his corpse yet! What is this! I mean Deepglider took some time, and even the murloc king... but this is insane. next reset i will be done with all the other Achievements for the Meta but im sure i'll still be missing Packfather...

Just killed Banescale after about 30 to 40ish attempts on Siltstalker. Interesting note, the kill on Siltstalker BEFORE the kill that actually spawned Banescale, Siltstalkers corpse stayed on the ground for about 15 minutes. I thought that was odd, as it had never done that before.

i have found a way to summon the packfather. if you kill the packmother (71.70, 54.86) at the location that the packfather spawns (73.88,53.96) he will spawn. but be carefull no to reset her as you must drag the packmother a good distance away from her spawn location.

I don't know if this was coincidence, but i killed packmother 7 times or so and packfather didnt show up. The last time i tried, I've always interrupted Packmother's Call with stuns, and didnt let her summon the packmates, and then the packfather showed up.

killed packmother twice. first time right on her spawn. second time kited her to packfather spawn and he spawned after killing her.

So, I tried something different a few weeks ago just to see what would happen: I used Alpha Fin to pull Siltstalker the Packmother, right-clicked the buff/aura to dismount and killed her normally. No special kiting, just a regular kill. Banescale the Packfather spawned in his normal location, at the pavillion area to the east. Since it could have easily been luck / RNG, I waited til I was able to try this again, which I just did today. Banescale the Packfather spawned again!

Now, I am fully aware that this could simply be a case of luck / RNG: I am NOT claiming this works 100% of the time. 2 attempts is hardly a large enough sample size. However, having 2 spawns on 2 attempts is enough to post this idea here so that everyone can have a chance to put it to the test.

Hopefully this may turn out to be a solution, but if not then at least is was worth testing out.

Updates:
SEP-28-2019: I'm now 3 for 3. So, either some really good luck or maybe this is the way to get him to spawn!
SEP-29-2019: Well, no luck this time, so 3 for 4. However, this kill was during the same daily lock-out as the previous kill, so maybe that had something to do with it. I did get Snapdragon Scent Gland, though.
SEP-30-2019: No luck again, fresh kill after daily reset. Now 3 spawns in 5 attempts. Clearly not 100%, but perhaps it creates an increased chance at spawning Banescale the Packfather. Will also try using Snapdragon Scent Gland.
SEP-30-2019: No luck: 3 for 6. Fresh kill after reset. Used Snapdragon Scent Gland this time (didn't have Alpha Fin, but figured I would try anyway).
OCT-2-2019: Did NOT use either of the items to assist in killing Siltstalker the Packmother. I DID kite slightly towards the pavilion. Banescale the Packfather spawned. He dropped Snapdragon Scent Gland.

Can confirm after Killing the packmother several times and the packfather not spawning, I engaged the packmother after using the alpha fin and the packfather spawned right after I killed the packmother.

I've been killing Packmother many times hoping the Packfather would spawn, but he didn't.
Today I went to check for her again but she wasn't marked on the map with a star and didn't have a rare silver portrait, yet was spawned. I killed her and the Packfather spawned right away.

Previously I've tried all the gimmicks, like kiting her to the gazebo, using fins, etc.

I did the kill the pathmother 25 times in 3 days of just sitting there. I only saw him spawn twice. Once he was tamed by a hunter, and the time I got him another hunter was there but was not taming him. 95% of my kills were solo. 120 Holy Priest. At no point did he every spawn when I was soloing pathmother.

I've been culling the Packmother and everything else around her for months now, I have killed her several hundred times and yet the Packfather has never spawned for me once, the only times I've seen it I only saw the corpse after someone else killed it.

Clearly it's just awful luck and RNG, but since I've tried multiple times literally everything posted in these comments and none of them ever worked, what I can say is that the Packfather spawn chance is completely RNG dependant and nothing else you'll do will affect the spawn chance in the slightest.

I just killed Banescale without first killing Siltstalker. I was camping Siltstalker when I found Banescale calmly patrolling down the path in front of Siltstalker's spawn point. Made a group but only managed to get one more in on the kill before a random from opposite faction pulled.

I post this here because, contrary to all other posts, Siltstalker was not killed before Banescale spawned. It is possible, although very unlikely, that someone killed Siltstalker and didnt notice Packfather spawning, leaving him to patrol (which I assume rarely, if ever, happens since he is so sought after). For this scenario to be true, his patrol path must take him away from Siltstalker's spawn spot for quite a long period at a time. Because:
a) There was no corpse of Siltstalker when I started camping and I saw no rare stars on the minimap when I arrived.
b) I camped for ~10 minutes and in this time I never noticed a rare star checking every now and then.
c) He was patrolling, not stationary when I saw him.

The other explanation is that he had just spawned when I noticed him. If so, he would have spawned independently of Siltstalker. Just a heads up for everyone still looking for him. Dont give up!

As for me, I got my crab today. I dont remember why I started playing WoW 15 years ago anymore, but it must have been to one day have a crab mount. The things I do in this game... = : )

I'm just wondering if killing her (Siltstalker) too fast prevents Banescale from appearing? In other words does she have to call for the pack a certain number of times before Banescale, being the inattentive father/mate/husband that he is, hears her call? I've killed Silt about 30x kiting her to the spot where Bane should appear, now I'm wondering if I should let her holler a few times more since most husbands don't hear what their wives say half the time anyways. In my case, she's never called for help more than 2x, maybe 3 or 4 would do the trick? Just a thought, but if anyone has any observations on that, it might be helpful. It could also explain why some people get it faster than others. Just a thought.

It is my opinion that kiting Siltstaker the Packmother to Banescale's spot does not have any affect on him spawning. I have just tried again as the Packmother was up when I logged in and yet again, no Banescale. I have tried numerous times by following suggestions mentioned in some comments on this page and none of them work. Banescale will spawn when Banescale spawns, I will just have to keep checking if he is about :(

I FINALLY FOUND THE RIGHT WAY TO MAKE IT SPAWN GUYS !

First: 2 conditions:
1) You must NOT kill the Packmother before doing something specific
2) That specific thing is the expedition asking you to kill 15 SNAPDRAGONS

So, my idea was that Banescale the Packfather has a similar technique of spawn than Iridescent Glimmershell, or Soundless, or even Rockweed Shambler.
=> mob bashing increases heavily the chances to make the specific rare pop, and that rare can pop really more frequently when there's the APPROPRIATE BASHING MOB EXPEDITION nearby the rare spawn point of the mob you're looking for.

So, here's what I did:

The snapdragon expedition was up, I did it, then I killed Toxigore the Alpha on my way, and AFTER THAT I've been waiting for Siltstalker the Packmother to show up at her spawn point.
I pulled her by riding the Alpha fin (looted on Toxigore), then I killed the Packmother (note: apparently, pulling her with the Alpha fin probably does not change the chances but just in case....maybe it works).
Result: As I expected, Banescale the Packfather showed up, and I killed him.

So my hypothesis was right. Do it too guys, and tell me your results, we have to confirm !

After days of passing through and killing the packmother I read some where that i should pull her to the gazebo where the packfather spawns. I did it on the first spawn of my day and Banescale immediately spawned.

So I managed to get a spawn today straight away.

Not sure if this works but... first I killed Toxigore the Alpha, then Siltstalker the Packmother popped straight away, killed her and then Banescale popped straight after that.

EDIT: Had Banescale spawn again the next day purely after a Siltstalker kill and nothing else. RNG ftw!

As of 8.3, I can confirm that there are no tricks to spawning this guy; when you kill the Packmother, there's a small chance that the Packfather will spawn. It doesn't matter where you kill her, and it doesn't make a difference to her spawn time if you slaughter her brood in the area around her. Over two days of camping, she was reguarly spawning every 40-50 minutes, without fail, and without any intervention.

This isn't usually quick one to find, but it's certainly not a complicated one either.

There's a lot of wild theories in here. For me this was the last rare needed for the achievement I thought you said they'd be rare?. It spawned on the second kill of Siltstalker the Packmother. I did nothing special, kited no mobs, used no items. Maybe this is fixed in 8.3, but it certainly was not the hardest mob to kill in the continent.

I have been sitting here camping this spawn for four days, have killed it over 30 times. Saw its corpse once when I had to go to the bathroom and mother spawned in the meantime and someone killed both in less than 3 minutes. Gotta love blizzards heavily rng AND time restricted based meta achievements with unique mount rewards

killed the packmother, and banescale spawned at the gazebo and began pathing towards packmother's spot. just got lucky today while doing fathom ray feast. now the only two rares remaining for me are anemonar and rockweed shambler

May 11th 2020, after 5 kills, i know i'm lucky there, i kitted Siltstalker the Packmother to the platform of Banscale the Packfather. After mother died, Father spawned right away. Others mentioned it before, first time trying the kite method it worked.

Killed at 20:35 server(PST) on Alexstrasza-US. Killed Siltstalker the Packmother 3 times successively before he spawned at the pavilion at 73, 53. Only thing I tried different this time was to pull Packmother back to the pavilion to kill, as some comments suggested. He spawned immediately. Good luck!

So i went for this guy today trying to complete for said achivement and while i was killing packmother i thought to myself why not worth dragging her over to where he would spawn and see if it would trigger the spawn much like the coral giants like urduu. Either sheer luck on first attempt of hoping him to spawn on killing packmother he did in fact spawn.

So to get to my point, drag packmother over to his spawn and kill him and reply whether or not this could finally be the case people have been looking for ?

I kited and killed Siltstalker the Packmother at Banescales spawn as others have said this makes him spawn but he did not spawn for me.

Comments on Siltstalkers page says they killed her exactly where she spawns and did not move her and Banescale spawned but he did not spawn for me when I did this.

Maybe this is a total rng spawn, idk but I've been trying a few different things on different days and nothing so far.

I killed him today. When you kill the packmother there is a chance he intantly respawns. I did not kite mother anywhere. This was my 4th kill of mother of the day

Killed Packmother both at her spawn point and at father spawn point around 10 times so far, multiple times per day and no Packfather spawn ...

Gotta love the world of waiting around like a tool for a rare to spawn to take a shot at spawning another rare ... I hate myself for starting and making almost full progress on this and the mechagon metas

After 3 more full days of camping the Packmother (thanks WFH) and a total of around 30 kills, he finally spawned. Can confirm it doesn't matter where the packmother dies, it's just a small chance when she dies, and he spawns instantly.

Got him after like +30 tries. Mother doesn't need to be kited and you can kill her as many times as you want per day, there is no cap.

I've killed the packmother 5-10 times yesterday & today alone (let alone all the times I killed it while not going specifically for this achievement). I've been camping the spawn point for seven hours today and two hours last night. The packfather has not spawned. I've kited the packmother to his location; killed the packmother where they spawn; killed all the mobs in the area; left all the mobs in the area; nothing works. I suspect this is bugged. There's no way an elite that drops nothing and is 1/37th of 1 achievement is this rare or difficult. I've submitted a ticket to Blizz.

Spawn is purely RNG after killing Siltstalker the Packmother
Killed packmother 4 times in same day and got the spawn. (After many other days)

What did NOT work

If camping this spawn location, there is a good chance to see Fabious as it spawned there twice in my camping.

Really didn't do much. I only killed mother 3 times then he spawned. It was at 3:13pm Eastern time, 2:13 Realm time

I've been killing the Packmother for weeks, often multiple times/day looking for Banescale to spawn. As an over-level rogue (and even when I was at level) I usually don't bother with the 'trash' but just for kicks this time I did. I took out ANY Snapdragon within visual range of the Packmother - the two to the left of her, the 4 small ones nearby, the elite patrolling the approach, the 2 (3?) sleeping in the nearby ruins, and the one sleeping near them on the ledge.

Lo and behold after killing the Packmother (I didn't do anything fancy like move or kite her - she does a leap down the path once but that's it), Banescale immediately spawned at approximately 73, 53 (near a broken small dome building). Coincidence? Maybe. But I won't have to hunt the Packmother anymore. XD
