I found mine in the Sundapple Copse in the Ohn'ahran Plains around /way #2023 63.40, 22.11 Black Slyvern Pup

Once I captured it, a regular, critter Slyvern Pup spawned in its place, so it might share spawn points with the critter versions.

got a s/s at 63.33, 26.52. I killed the critter versions around for about 5-10 minutes until a Black Slyvern Pup spawns :)

Just killed Slyvern Pup critters in the Sundapple Copse area until the pet spawned. Pet itself spawned at /way 62 22

Blizzard is at it again with the RNG forced spawn pets. I've been killing for almost 2 hours both the critter and the beast version of the Slyvern Pup in the Sundapple Copse area without any spawn.

I also killed the Woodbiter Piculet battle pet and critter that spawns in the area as well, to no success.

Edit: of course, 2 minutes after posting on wowhead it spawned.

Killed Slyvern Pup critters for about 60 minutes before the first battle pet spawned. It was Poor quality, and on the backline was a Rare Treeflitter that I had not yet captured. I follow a stupid rule that I don't use battlestones on wild pets, so I captured the Treeflitter instead. I regret that decision now, because after another 90 minutes of killing critters, I have not seen another one spawn.

Not sure if this is just a weird coincidence - it took me almost an hour to get one to spawn earlier today running around and killing critters, but when I went back tonight just now at about 11pm server time there were a bunch there in a little clump. Maybe they are simply normally nocturnal?

Don't let the description mislead you, they're not up high but down in the thicker woods immediately west of Emberwatch. If you just glanced at the map here and headed up to the grassy plateau you're a little too far west.

Here's a handy macro to help you with your destruction of Slyvern Pups to get the battle pet to spawn:
#showtooltip Wild Turkey
/target Slyvern Pup
/cleartarget
/stopmacro
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 8)
/cast Conflagrate
Replace Conflagrate with an instant damage spell of your choice. Took me about 10 minutes running up and down the area spamming the macro to get the battle pet to spawn.

Took me less than 15 minutes in total to collect this pet by serverhopping. Simply go in the woods and join groups doing WQ in the zone under "questing" in LFG. I reccomend selecting warmode ON if PVP world quests are active in the area. Simply join a group, see if the pet is there, if not leave and join another, while killing slyverns to force a spawn in your own server. Happy hunting!

Time turns, the earth spins, empires rise and fall, continents shift....still hasn't spawned ..... after carrying out an entire genocide of these critters....still no spawn
