Quest Tracking Feature Preview
Blizzard has released a
preview
of the new quest tracking feature on the official website!
The new page gives a full rundown on what you can expect to see in the Quest Tracker that's scheduled to come out with the new patch.
We've been testing out an all-new Quest Tracking feature which we plan to include in content update 3.3. Read our preview to learn how the World of Warcraft questing experience will be vastly improved in content update 3.3 for characters of all levels here:

Jace Hall Blizzard Interview Video
So Blizzard has provided us with a video from their archives!
This is an interview that
Jace Hall
did with the Blizzard staff which originally aired on December 15, 2008—just a month or so after the release of Wrath of the Lich King. He explores the Blizzard offices (which they never let me take pictures of!), talks about the decisions they made for Wrath, and settles an old rivalry.

Well it looks like Blizz is having another contest! This time, you have to design a holiday greeting card!
Every holiday season, Blizzard Entertainment creates a special holiday card to spread some seasonal cheer to little murlocs, zerglings, and imps everywhere. This year, we’re inviting you to catch the spirit by creating a Blizzard-ly holiday card of your own featuring the Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo series. We’ll provide the template -- all you need to do is add your personal touch.

Blizzard Authenticators: Are They Worth It?
The Authenticator is an excellent tool that keeps unwanted hackers out of your account through a nearly infallible method. However, this device also has the potential to cause a
lot
of inconvenience for the account holder, oftentimes more trouble than it would cause for a hacker. I can say from this personal experience because I’ve gone through it twice already. After the second incident, it really made me reconsider whether or not the Authenticator was worth the hassle.
The first time happened was when I went on a trip to Northern California.

Tentative BlizzCon 2010 Info Leaked
So the crew at

have done a bit of sleuthing, and have discovered that

is (tentatively) scheduled at the Las Vegas Convention Center next year, for July 30th and 31st!

We haven’t announced any details regarding our next BlizzCon -- though we can confirm that it will not be held in Las Vegas -- so we recommend everyone refrain from making any BlizzCon-related travel plans at this time.
Looks like we won't be meeting in Vegas this year—a shame, I was rather looking forward to the trip.

PTR Build 10805 - TONS of New Models (And 2 New Icons)!
I'm sure we can all tell that Icecrown is coming soon, and these PTR patches are getting bigger and more cram-packed with awesome! This latest patch included a plethora of new items so we've got some brand spankin' new models to share with you guys. Not too many new item icons have been added, but I'm sure we'll be seeing even more soon!

For those of you who are playing on the PTR right now, please please PLEASE go run the content, and send us your cache files! That's the entire contents of the "World of Warcraft/Cache/WDB" folder—ideally zipped up. Send them on to our address at feedback@wowhead.com—that's the quickest way we can use to get the data up on the site.

More Blue Pugs!
Apparently the previous episode of
PUGging with the blues
went so well, they've decided to do it again.
On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 4pm Pacific Standard Time, the Blizzard dungeon team will be testing out their own new LFG feature on the PTR—so all you have to do is hop in the queue, and who knows? You might get the chance to personally ask Ghostcrawler for that pony he promised you.
For a chance to group with the Blizzard team members, you need to use the Dungeon system and choose the "Random Heroic" option. All employees will have the <GM> tag next to their names and be able to choose whichever class, realm and faction he or she wants.

Dolby Axon in Open Beta
A friend of mine pointed this out to me a little while ago—apparently
Dolby Axon
is now in open beta.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Axon, it's a competitor for
Ventrilo
and
TeamSpeak
. It's got a couple of really interesting features—most interesting among them, I think, is the ability to chat "visually" in surround sound. You can drag each person on your Axon channel to a different location, and hear the voices in surround sound, coming from the actual locations where you put people.
I haven't downloaded it yet, but if this really does what it says it does it could be a really compelling replacement for vent. If you're interested in signing up for the beta, check it out

Weight Scale Updates
Wowhead has made a long overdue update to the
weight scales
!
We've gone through the sticky threads and pulled the best weights we could find to update our weight scale system, so the
weighted searches
,
weighted comparisons
, and
recommended upgrades
on the
Profiler
should now be showing much more realistic results.
There ARE a few weight scales that are still out of date though! Our Blood Death Knight scale still doesn't have a value for agility, and our Frost Tanking scale still has old numbers. We're changing the way these scales get updated so we should be much quicker to get the scores up to date—but we need your help!

3.3 PTR Patch Notes Updated! Bug Fixes Galore!
Greetings Wowhead users! There's a new build on the PTR so you guys know what that means! Blizzard has updated their

with a plethora of bug fixes and some additional changes.
Nothing too amazing this build, though significant changes have been made to

, presumably to make it more PUG-friendly with the advent of the

system. Sadly, I don't see anything about Blizzard actually having made the dungeon

. Maybe that will come in a later build. Also, for those of you hungering to satiate your storage needs, a new 24-slot bag has been added to

Patch 3.3 Guide - Recent Updates
The reason for this out-of-the-blue blog are some recent updates to the
Patch 3.3 Guide
we released about 3 weeks ago. Several PTR builds have hit us since then, I have been updating the index page of the guide, and occasionally dropping a reply in the blog, but all of those have been somewhat subtle. Note: We know we've been spamming you with blogs a lot lately, but this one had to be done. And better now than when Halls of Reflection, or some other major feature appears on the PTR. Blizzard has really made us work for this patch.

PTR Build 10772 - New Models
The Public Test Realm was recently updated to build 10772, and with that comes some new models to enjoy! Some of the interesting models in this build are new armoured frost wyrms, new models for Quel'Delar, and some snazzy boss models of what I assume are the San'layn (Vampiric Blood Elves).

3.3 Patch Notes Updated! (Build 10772)
The latest update to the
PTR Patch Notes
brings us some interesting changes.
One of the most important ones that people will be thinking of is the change to Naxxramas. You will no longer have to kill all the end bosses to access
Sapphiron
's Lair! A teleportation orb has been added to the lair to allow players to travel back and forth from the main dungeon to the lair with ease now. There is also the addition of the much awaited
Quest Tracking Feature
.
