Creative Development Team Answers Your Questions
A few weeks ago Blizzard asked for questions you'd like answered by the
Creative Development Team
in their very own
Story Forum
. Now the reply back from developers is here with some juicy lore tasty bits like whatever happened to Frostmourne after it was shattered. They also explain how the "Light" works and how the Forsaken manage to wield it.
Thanks to
SirPunky
for the heads up on this!
There are a lot of other questions answered as well , which you can read after the break!

New Cataclysm Data!
In case the data you're already reviewing on our Cataclysm site is not enough, the first
new
batch of Cataclysm data has gone through our rigorous data screening process and is now available for review!
Check out what we've found so far on our revamped
Latest Additions
page. You'll notice that, on days where there are many entries, we now link to
a separate page
so that the Latest Additions page is less spammy. The new listing includes a tabbed interface to make your data browsing a little more pleasant.
Of course, there's more in store, so stay tuned!

We wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you for all your support. Wowhead wouldn't be here today if it weren't for your bug reports, your feedback, your comments, your forum posts, and (of course) your data. Everything we are today, we owe to you guys.
So have a slice of cake with us, and celebrate!
It's so delicious and moist...

Finally: A CAPTCHA Update!
Some of you may have already noticed a change to our site's
CAPTCHA
authentication (a.k.a those annoying codes you enter to post stuff). We tossed out our homebrewed solution and started using
reCAPTCHA
, which allows users of Wowhead to help digitize books. You can read the site for more information.
Before anyone complains that you now have to OMG TYPE TWO WORDS INSTEAD OF ONE AND ITS THE END OF THE WORLD, we also throttled back our CAPTCHA challenges. You should now only be prompted
once every five minutes or after five posts
, whichever comes first. That should help our more-avid users avoid
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
for a bit longer. Enjoy!
You hear that, pelf?

BFF Report - All Points O'Brien
I went to E3 last week to pretty much just hit on booth babes, but I partied a little too hard and now I have this "Malgayne pwnz" tribal henna tattoo on my left rump-cheek (near the crease). I vaguely remember getting the chance to
interview tons of developers
making games that somehow will all be the next "WoW killer," and even went toe-to-toe with EJ "
lolhandlebarmustache
" Moreland, lead designer for APB! Speaking of...
This week's BFF Report is all about gameplay in All Points Bulletin... and man what a controversial subject that is amirite!?? Seriously, talk about panties->bunched when they announced that they embargoed reviews until after release (now down to July 2nd, UK release date). Then there are all the lone-wolf types who try and play this massive MULTIPLAYER game all by their lonesome and then QQ about how boring it is (they are right, btw). Truth be told, the game has it's flaws, but the good news is that the
developers are aware
of the community's concern... now let's see if they actually do anything about it.

Icecrown Citadel Raid Buff Up to 25%
Coincidentally with today's patch the
Icecrown Citadel
raid buff has been increased to a hefty
25%
damage, healing, health bonus (see
Hellscream's Warsong
and
Strength of Wrynn
).
As with every increase previously done this will make the instance slightly easier for those still struggling with the many encounters in Icecrown Citadel.
Remember there's still the
30%
increase left for this buff, which should hit live realms on
July 20th
!
As always, you can turn this buff off at anytime if you feel like trying the encounter in its most difficult form.

Patch 3.3.5 Released In North America
Patch 3.3.5
has finally been released in North America! It is important to note other regions will not be receiving this patch this week but will get it next week.
Included in this new patch is the much awaited
RealID
feature and the release of the brand new raid instance
The Ruby Sanctum
.
Unfortunately the Ruby Sanctum will not be available for another week in North America as to not give them an unfair advantage with the new content. Beyond those huge new features Blizzard has revamped the entire chat system.
You can read all the changes on our Patch Notes page:

Anniversary Interview: J. Allen Brack
Blizzard has released a new interview on their Anniversary mini-site, this time with
J. Allen Brack
who currently is Production Director at Blizzard.
In this interview Brack speaks about many subjects, such as originally things were worked on one thing at a time now the teams are capable of balancing out several different projects at once. They then go on to touch on some of his fondest memories of early-World of Warcraft subjects being revisited with Cataclysm.
It's a great read, so head on over to the official Anniversary mini-site and check it out.
