Hmm. Interesting. I've heard good things. Thanks for the info. I'll have to enter.
Wow, it's open to canadians.
Damn, need to be 18.
I'll never play any Magic that isn't the real card game or MTGO. Anything else is crap and you can't fully experience the game.
I tried to enter...But when i went to put my state in i could only fit "VI" and not "VIC"(Aussie here) so lets hope they figure it out if i win :P
The first DotP is what got me into Magic (went to my first FNM last Friday!), so I wouldn't say it's crap at all. I still enjoy the first one and am happily in the process of beating the new one.
I suppose it could work to introduce someone to the game. I've been playing the card game for over 10 years, though, so not being able to use every card that I should have access to and modify my decks fully is an incredibly let-down.
I love having a casual magic game to play that I don't have to buy cards for to have the best deck. That's why I still play it. There would be no point to it if it was just like Magic Online.
But something that isn't just like the real game or just like MTGO isn't Magic to me. Buying / trading cards and building your own decks is part of the game. When you're limited in what you can do, it takes fun out of the game.
So you like the aspects of buying and trading cards. I don't think that makes the other aspects of the game, like actually playing, crap. It reminds me of all the people who complain about Karn's ultimate, where you restart the game. As my friend said mockingly, "Oh golly, we have to play MORE Magic? What a travesty." Lot's of people play Magic because playing games of Magic is fun, and for no other reason.
I bought it for myself on steam, and while it can be quite challenging, I like it a lot! It's my first experience with Magic, and I personally feel a great introduction to the physical-card based gamed. :)
While it's very nice of ZAM to give away 30x, I prefer physical cards over digital ones - to the degree that I would never consider getting an online-card game. You can play them IRL, and I think that's much better. However as someone said, this might be a cheap introduction to Magic and lead people to buy the real deal; which would be, you know, nice.
Does anyone play WoW tcg? I'm a big collector of their cards.
Missed it oh well guess I am too busy Trolling. Used to play magic , but grew out of it and played video games instead.
