Lore, I am SO jealous D=.
Tol Barad is a joke
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
heroics are not hard at all, ppl are just too lazy to learn some basic mechanics
Tol Barad is only fine if you are defending it. What was wrong with allowing superior numbers to carry the day? It's more realistic, and more rewarding for those who are dedicated enough to get their entire guild and all their friends out. Joining a premade queue to attack TB is a joke. Two of you might get in at the last two minutes. The game involves the entire defending team camping out one of the three nodes. Nothing you can do short of sending the entire attacking force at that one node will dislodge them. When you do this, they simply regroup at another node. There is no strategy, and definitely no fun. A simple change would be to reduce the amount of nodes needed to win TB by one when all three towers are down. For example, if you are on the attacking team, and you successfully manage to destroy all three towers, then you only need to control two nodes simultaneously to win. This would add more strategy to defending, something sorely needed; while simultaneously not making it impossible to defend. Another way to fix this problem, is to have (THIS IS NOT TENACITY) a scaling effect based on how many times TB has been defended consecutively. Every time TB gets defended, including the first, the attacking team gets 10% more people the next game, up to a maximum of 100%. If you can successfully hold that one node you are camping with half as many people, you deserve to do your dailies. This would allow people on low population servers and on servers in which your faction is clinically retarded a chance to do BH and the other 6 dailies at least once a week or so.
hmm maybe they are just dropping breadcrumbs like they did with cataclysm and 4.0.1
A simple way to fix Tol Barad imbalance would be that if the 3 towers are destroyed, the offensive team only need to capture 2 bases to win it.This would incite defense to defend towers and would give a chance to offense to actually win it.About titan, I dont think its a coincidence, just like when they said that Cataclysm had 12.07% chance to be released this year. Blizzard LOVES to put hints everywhere.
On the Titan thing, most people on TV are very stupid. There is a high chance that the guy in charge of writing the credits was like "omg what was this company called". He looks on the Internet for random games and he gets Blizzard. There you go, I did it!
Just as a temporary fix, how about making it so that the winners of Tol Barad be on the attack the next time? That may not make sense spatially but at least if things hold true the factions will each get equal time with the dailies. Share the misery equally!
I do think a few encounters, in some of the heroics, both boss and trash, could be toned down a bit, but I also think most of the encounters are rather easy, and could probably do with a buff, but like I've said in earlier posts, I don't think it's a problem of difficulty for most people, but a problem of time.Case in point: After going through two utter failure groups trying to do my daily heroic earlier today, I finally found a decent one in SFK. We had a bit of trouble on the first boss, but the rest of the instance was more-or-less a breeze. Despite this, it took nearly two hours to finish. That's on top of the time it took waiting in queues and waiting for desertion debuffs. I started queuing at about 2 PM, I finished SFK at 7 PM. All I really cared about getting was JP/VP. That's a pretty effing steep price.Yeah yeah, do guild runs, I've heard it all before, and you know what? I do guild runs all the time. Guess what? I can't always run with guild members, and they still take a huge amount of time to finish when I do.That being said, I think a lot of the QQing regarding heroics would disappear if many of the possibilities for cheating/griefing/trolling/ninjaing/general bad conduct of many players using RDF were fixed, and if more strict requirements were put into place for eligibility of participating in heroics. The average ilvl requirement is too low, people shouldn't be able to do a heroic until they've at least done the normal version, etc.One thing Blizzard should realize by now is, if you allow people to cheat/grief/troll/ninja/generally behave badly, they will.As for Tol Barad, the solution is simple and many have been saying it for a while now: 2 bases to win, regardless if you're defending or attacking.
Cata heroics aren't hard. They're challenging. The reason why many people find Cataclysm heroics hard is because WoTLK heroics were a bit too easy. Before WoTLK, people used to PREPARE for heroics. No one entered heroics without enchants and gear, and without making sure they reach the benchmark stats (DPS, EH or mana pool) necessary to finish them without difficulty. People got used to the idea of jumping right into a heroic dungeon as soon as they hit max level or even just meeting the minimum iLvl requirements for heroics. Only a handful are willing to fully enchant and fully gem their gear in order to make sure they got the DPS, or healing power, or defensive stats necessary to survive a heroic dungeon.
Cata heroics aren't hard, they're really long.Seriously, 20 pulls in GB that require CC and make the instance take an hour and a half isn't any more difficult than 20 pulls in any WotLK heroic you care to name that could be AoE'd down for a 30 minute instance.
Just a note on "Stars".They got Earth, Wind and Fire (25)*¹ and Alone in the Darkness (25)*² World firsts.*¹ - World First Earth Wind and Fire (25) by Stars*² - Yogg +0 World First Kill by Stars
HCs are challenging, unfortunately people don't know how to handle them unless you do a guild run

On the topic of "Are Heroics Too Difficult?" I too don't know if "Too Difficult" is the right word. Heroics require a bit more coordination and working in concert that most PUGs can handle. That isn't "difficult" as much as "trying to get 4 other players to understand what needs to happen just the in game cues and with /p is a bit much".At this point, Blizzard should just open Tol Barad/Bardin Hold to both factions until they can do a major patch to address the rules and setup of the whole place. Actually what is going on in Tol Barad and Heroic PUGs as two sides of the same coin. Blizzard wanted to make Heroics and Battlegrounds more of a challenge by increasing the complexity and coordination necessary to win. I bet on the drawing board, attacking Tol Barad makes sense where they believed that highly coordinated, acting in exact concert can attack and can win against a turtling defense. The unfortunate reality is chances of that happen with random people is extremely low when using the "Join Battle Ground" tool because they would need a centralized communication, a pre-game match plan, and specifically designed groups where all of it isn't supported by the default, in game tools.
I like where heroics are, as a hunter it's good to be trapping and kiting again. Some of the bosses are a little unforgiving, but it's getting me in shape for raiding.
